There is a lot of grunting and attempted elevation on his part and much encouragement and laughter on my part. He doesn't get all that far, but I think--comfortably planted on this colorful blanket alongside him and with my warm mug of morning coffee in hand--that that is just fine for right now.

A little belated--A, you have an awesome attitude for a new mommy. Better to let him evolve at his own pace. Bravo!! :)
Mateo dresses like his father and has more stylish bedding than anyone in our family. I miss you. T-minus three weeks until our Paris Thanksgiving. Amazing.
ps - how did I not know you were a coffee drinker? I mean we lived together with our horrible study habits and Robertson Hall theses escapades for nine months. Have I just forgotten or is this a new phenomenon?
No, no, AWOL, your memory does not fail you. I have become a coffee drinker since our theses=writing days. I think that living in Bolivia, where coffee was fundamentally always what was for breakfast, and then the sleep=deprivation of medical school, irreversibly converted me. For full disclosure, though, I think that there is more milk in my mug than coffee. I am not nearly as hard core as you are.
