More meaningful even than having the three of us Leader kids home for the first time together in several years was getting to watch my sister and brother become Aunt Fitzie and Uncle Robert with Mateo in their arms.
(My only regret is our failure to complete the tentatively-planned, Beijing-inspired synchronized swimming competition in the back yard. We got no farther than Elizabeth and Chad's synchronized stretching in the kitchen and Bernardo's and my rehearsal of a mean final routine. It will have to wait for next summer, the upside, of course, being that we have another whole year to study the Russians' routines and recreate our own.)

Where in the world did Robert get that onesie? Fabulous. Your sister looks like a natural and her hair is adorable so short - how's that for meaningful and superficial all in one breath? No, but seriously, Mateo is so blessed to be ensconced in such a circle of love.
The fabulous onesie was a gift from "Uncle Rob"'s girlfriend, Jacqueline, who made it herself. That girl can do more than just cut hair! (I will have to describe the diaper cake that she also made and brought from Tampa to the baby shower in Wisconsin.)
Wait...there was no olympics? Perfect! This give everyone another year to work on their routines. I was so sad I was going to miss the big event. Promise to film it, when you finally compete. I can't speak for Fitz and Chad, but I was privy to a few practices by the Spanish Team and they were very, very good. Keep us posted.
