around 9pm in Mieres

This is the typical scene upon Daddy's arrival home from work each evening. If M's smile were any bigger, it wouldn't fit on his face.

Mario says that Mateo closes his eyes when he laughs in the very same way that Bernardo's mother did. I love that Mateo brings pieces of his Grandmother Mercedes back into this home, and I know that I am not alone in this feeling.

I don't think Mateo likes his dad very much.

What is with this new font size? Is it here to stay or just for added emphasis on this post? Also, Berni gets home at 2100?

The explanation of the font size is that Berni walked into the room just as I was about to publish this post and insisted that I use a larger, more reader-friendly font. The conclusion is that I cannot decide if it is more aesthetically pleasing or not and it is likely not here to stay.

Sadly, Berni works from 4-9pm every week day except for Fridays when he is in Salamanca. And most of his mornings are dedicated to music therapy at the center for developmentally disabled adults. We are happy to share him with the world, but do wish that he were able to hang around with us a bit more each day. This seems to be the story of so many families' lives.

Oh, don't ever change, Mateo. You won't though. Your mother never did. And Bernardo never will.
