We got home from mass in time to watch the final sets of another spectacular tennis match between Nadal and Federer, this time the final of the Australian Open. Meanwhile, Mateo spent the hour playing, "reading," chewing, untying, and talking on the couch alongside his grandfather.
Entirely focused on the task at hand.
There will always be a touch of Bolivia in our home.
A studious pair.

YES! He and his cousin Seth have twin argyle sweaters! I am going to post one on our blog too, so can we see them both in their finery. I can't believe you didn't tell us in Paris that Mateo had the 6 month version of our 12 month sweater (my favorite item in which to put Seth!). I miss you.
Is Mateo STANDING on the couch? How did he grow up so quickly? I love those images of the two men, hard at work on a Sunday afternoon. What a perfect way to end your week...And the fact that you'll always have a little Bolivia in your home is perfect. The start of it all....
I love this series, with Mateo so clearly modeling the look and the posture of the Spanish Man. What a looker, Alex, good grief! Hearts are already breaking on this side of the Atlantic.
It looks like Mateo just arrived home from a finals tennis match himself. I love those legs...and busy lace-untying-newspaper crinkling hands...and polished cheeks...and enormous peering eyes. Pretty much the whole wonderful package, little guy. Love, abuela Becky
